Triples Round 1 was in full swing tonight.
V Symons (WR) and K Proctor (BD) received a bye into round 2 which left us with 6 remaining matches to be played.
2 games were played ahead of tonight; V Shepherd (AK) travelled to Hexham to play A MacDonald and won, 18-14 and J Robson scored an impressive 27 shots in their opening tie, whilst only conceding 9 against A Wilson (M).
But it wasn’t all bad news for Morpeth, in tonight’s game B Bell was 7 shots up away to WM M Maddison. In keeping with the 1 in, 1 out theme – Maddison’s club mate B Ware was triumphant with their home advantage over M Phillip (FH) – 19-10 and progress to the quarter finals where they’ll V Symons.
Our penultimate game was a close one between S London (C) and A Dunton (P), where Dunton narrowly lost out by 2 shots at the end.
Lastly our reigning champs, S Storey (G) made their mark on the comp by defeating R Twizell (PE) by 10 shots. They’ll go on to face K Proctor for a place on the semi-finals next week.
