It is with sadness that I have to advise the death of Portland BC’s Billy Blyth.
Bill was a long standing member of Portland BC Ltd for many, many years, and served the Jesmond club over many roles, as well as a competitor on the green.
Bill represented the county – Northumberland County Bowls Association and played in all teams, from Armstrong, Alsop, Muras and Middleton Cup.
Bill also won county titles – winning the County Fours in 2003, and 2001 – where he represented the county at the National Finals.
We of course send of condolences and thoughts to Bill’s wife Maureen, and family, and to all the members of Portland BC, and the wider bowls community – our thoughts are very much with you at this sad time.
Bill’s funeral will take place on Thursday 28th March at 1:30 pm at Whitley Bay Crematorium.
