Men’s Triples

Back to news

Friday evening brought the start of the Men’s Triples – with only 5 scheduled ties.

BUT only 4 were played. And the games that were played there was a good win for Forest Hall’s Chris Coan at Cramlington, beating John Sutherland 23 -11 (P Ging named entry). Ashington’s George Richardson recorded a good home win over Collingwood’s Michael Watson 28 – 10, and Benfield’s Matty Bishop had a comprehensive home win over Gosforth’s Trevor Morrison.

The last action of the night were ties at Rockcliffe, where Ian Brown won 27 – 15 over home player M Bravington. The last tie was a walk-over unfortunately – where Percy’s Geoff Adams was due to play R Clark (Rockcliffe) at Rockcliffe. The Rockcliffe triple did not turn up and the game was conceded. A reminder to ALL players / teams if you not going to play. or not turn up – please inform your opponent, or myself, and or the relevant club secretary. This is very poor, in terms of not turning up and unfortunately this is not the only occasion, as it has occurred in the 2 wood singles as well. So please bear this in mind – and advise your opponent – after all how long does it take to send a text, or call to advise – thank you.
