Men’s Reporting Results

Back to news

For most of you this is self explanatory – but as we reach the peak of the season, with many competitions and ties taking place. I remind you of the basic information required when submitting / advising of your result for Men’s competitions and championships.

  • All names on the scorecard are required – please include surnames, not just Bob or whoever! As names need to be checked, to ensure players have been registered; also in some pairs / triples or fours may have used a substitute and checks need to be done ensuring only 1 and the same substitute is used.
  • The score is clear (and adds up to what is on the card!!).
  • Please state the competition – i.e. Fours or Mixed Pairs.
  • Please state the tie number – for example there are 32 ties on Thursday, just like last night – and it is easier for myself to find if a tie number if it was included on the scorecard.
  • Scorecard to be signed by the loser.
  • Results of all ties to be within 24 hours of the commencement of the tie – that does not mean 4 days. Also if advising by telephone this must be done by 10pm on the evening of the tie, and after 7:30am on the morning following the the tie. Of course many use Whatsapp, Text to send in results with photos of scorecards – which works well and is quick, this allowing results to be recorded and published.
  • Also please report your tie when the match is finished; try not to wait another 2 hours – for example 2 wood ties take about an 1 hour, and say starting at 6:30pm – that takes you to about 7:30pm. So not sure why some results, and even walk-overs are not notified until 10pm or after.

I know for some or most of you the majority of the above is already being done – thank you.
