Men’s County Competitions

Back to news

All of the Men’s County Competitions are now published and available.

As we enter the season, we may need to be flexible as things could change at short notice due to the pandemic. I’ve altered dates where I can for now. We do have a little bit of leeway as the national finals are later this year, and therefore the cut off point is later, but would rather schedule the finals as they are now (this would allow people to book up in good time etc).

The main concerns is around 4’s – so this is County Fours, Senior Fours, and of course all of cup competitions – that is Challenge, Jubilee and Edwardson are all fours as well. Currently fours play is not allowed, due to the restrictions (and rule of 6) – but hopefully as restrictions ease we will be allowed to play. Some of you may have noticed the cups – Jubilee and Edwardson have been moved from May in to July already, with finals in August. The Challenge Cup was already in August.

The Fours competition will also now start in July, and run over consecutive weeks until the semi-final stage. The triples will be played before this and again run over consecutive Fridays’.

The only one (that I may change) is the Senior Rinks – and this may include playing 2 rounds in a day on a set date.

As you all realise it has been challenging time for everyone so please bear with us if things do change or it is slightly different to what we use to BUT I’m sure any play is better than none at all.

Finally, everyone must take care, observe the guidance that is given, respect your fellow players and stay safe.
