Further to my earlier post on the very sad news of Bill Gilbert, who passed away. Please see below details of the funeral.
Date of Funeral: Thursday 22 June 2023 at 11.30am
Service at: Doxford Place Methodist Church, 69 Dewley, Cramlington, NE23 6DY
Wake at: The Beefeater, Moor Farm, Cramlington, NE23 7QA
(immediately after the Church Service)
Committal: This will take place later on in the day
Pauline (Bill’s wife) would like as many people as possible to attend the Wake to raise a glass to Bill and reminisce about his life and the vast number of friends he made through playing bowls, snooker, golf, bridge, church organist (over 50 years playing at Doxford Methodist Church and, occasionally at other places) as well as being a choir member and conductor, and also not forgetting his long career as a teacher/headteacher. He lived a very full and interesting life.
The other thing that Pauline is trying to organise is a small Guard of Honour for Bill, to take place inside the Church. She is hoping that a few bowlers will hold a bowl in their hand with a few snooker players holding a snooker cue.
