Thursday 19th August saw our Women’s 4’s Champions from Wooler take on Pam Garden from Egham, Surry in the preliminary round.
Unfortunately for our girls it was not to be today as they went down to the Surrey rink as Pam Garden’s quartet took the victory 18 – 12.
The Wooler rink was Ruby Robinson, Maggie Peart, Jacqui Donnelly, Vic Symons – well done girls and enjoy Leamington.
Tomorrow will see our Men’s 4 Wood Singles Champion and recently crowned Northern Counties Champion Jonty King plays at 12 noon and Jonty is in the first round – and will play either Alan Symondson (Reading, Berkshire) or Joe Dawson (Kingscoft, Leicestershire).
Also on Day 1 was the Family Pairs final stages and success went to Cambridgeshire, where Scott Walton now plays from. Scott and his father Mark (Yorkshire) defeated another father & son duo Warwickshire’s Scott and Graham Ashby 15 – 13. Well done to Scott and Mark – and huge congratulations from Bowls Northumberland.
