Wednesday at the National Finals brings more events for our players and could bring some silverware.
Firstly in the Men’s Champion of Champions St. Georges Dragon Phil Harvey is in the semi-final this morning at 9:30am, this is following two great wins yesterday – where Phil beat Devon’s Stuart Evans 21 – 9, and then followed with another good win over Surrey’s Robert Dodds 21 – 13. In the semi-final Phil will face Stuart Lowe from the Springhouse BC, Essex. Lowe defeated the holder Kent’s Harry Goodwin yesterday afternoon 21 – 19.
Phil was 3 – 12 (BE live scoring is still showing 0 – 0 !), Phil is fighting back 12- 13 down now. Phil won 21 – 14. And is the final at 2:30pm today and Phil plays Graham Ashby (Warwickshire). Phil unfortunately lost 13 – 21.

The Women’s Pairs started yesterday but our representatives start this morning. The women’s Northumberland pairs champions Forest Hall’s Kacee Sultman & Jess Weir play Patsy Dobson & Nicolette Wade from Ampthill BC from Bedfordshire. And our representatives received a bye (I’ve not known Northumberland to receive a bye – as normally it was a prelim or early first round!) – anyway Gosforth’s Mattea Ross & Sheila Storey will play later today at 1:30pm, as their opposition is playing at 9:30am, and they will play either Somerset A or Yorkshire A.
Further good news –- Round 1: Kacee & Jess won 16 – 9 against Bedfordshire A.
- Round 2: Kacee & Jess won 32 – 5 against Leicestershire A
- Round 2: Mattea & Sheila won 20 – 17 against Yorkshire A.
Later today will see the start of the Men’s Triples – at 5:30pm.
St. Georges Dragons Michael Cymber, Stephen Harvey & Phi Harvey will play Nathan Lewis, Jon Philpott & Howard Watts from Headington BC, Oxfordshire A, and our county triples champions of Morpeth’s Nick Armstrong, Bob Leeson & Wally Ray will play Danny Seabourne, Mathew Carter, David Smith of Freethorpe BC, Norfolk B.
