BNWS 4 Bowl Singles
Today we have seen our 8 quarter finalists battling it out for a place in the 4 bowl semi finals and there was a couple of very close exciting games.
Susan MacDonald (HX) v Fiona Charlton (M)
Fiona took an early lead of 7-0 after 6 ends. Susan then got in her stride and took the next 4 ends with 2×1, 2, & 3 to equal the game at 7-7.
Fiona went ahead again after 12 ends so was leading 10-7. Susan took a 2 on end 13 to cut her deficit back to 9-10. After 19 ends Fiona was still in the lead but then Susan took the next 4 ends to cut her deficit again to 16-18. With determination Susan scored a 3 on end 28 to level the game at 20-20. With a nail biting finish Fiona scored 1 on the last end to win 21-20.
Kayleigh Proctor (BD) v Victoria Symons (WR)
Victoria was leading 7-0 after 6 ends. Kayleigh fought back to 3-9 after 9 ends. Victoria pushed ahead again to lead 14-6 after 13 ends. Kayleigh replied taking the next 3 ends to cut her deficit to 11-14. Victoria won the next 2 ends to lead 17-11. Kayleigh won a further 1 but Victoria took a 4 on end 20 to win overall 21-12.
Joan Gledhill (NB) v M. Angove (NW)
Maryisa took the first 2 ends but Joan replied quickly on the following 2 ends to lead 3-2. Scores were level after 8 ends at 8-8. This was a very tight game with the lead changing constantly. After 17 ends Maryisa had a lead of 17-13. Then Joan took the next 4 ends to regain the lead 18-17. Maryisa took the last 3 ends with 2×2, & 1 to win overall 22-18.
Dorothy Tait (M) v R.Cartwright (BD)
Dorothy dominated the game in the first 9 ends taking a lead of 16-0. Rachel then fought back and had cut her deficit to 3-17 after 13 ends. Dorothy was leading 20-4 after 17 ends. Rachel took the following 3 ends bringing the score to 8-20. Dorothy managed to score 1 on end 21 to win overall 21-8.
So we have 3 new names coming through to our semi finals this year!!
