Well from the sublime to the ridiculous our weather is. Battling Yorkshire Women’s County Stella Logan team in excessive heat is not my idea of enjoyment. So thankfully I wasn’t !!! But sincere respect for Northumberland players who did. Blistering heat and playing on a blisteringly fast green at Gosforth WA certainly brought on a challenge. A challenge that we rose to.
Three out of the five rinks managed to steal collectively 3 points from Yorkshire but with one rink down just 3 shots and the remaining rink heavily beaten a win was not on the cards. So losing by 16 shots overall was not the routing we have experienced in the past so a lot of positives to be taken away.
Our “end of term” party of Fish & Chips, washed down with some liquid indulgence served from Gosforths well stocked bar was a great finish to what has proven to be a real Team effort and in my opinion friendships formed for great results next season.
