Stella Logan V Yorkshire Report

Back to news

So near yet so far. Our Stella Logan nearly pulled off a great win at Sessay, Thirsk against Yorkshire on Friday. We escaped the heavy rain that was forecast thankfully and played in reasonable conditions although the green itself looked heavy.

We started well at 5 ends being 7 shots up overall which increased at 10 ends to 13 shots overall but that lead was gobbled up in the next 5 by Yorkshire with a rink skipped by Bernie Hill of Yorks. showing a clean pair of heels to her opposition scoring 12 shots in the next 5 ends to our 1 shot. Trying to reduce the deficit for Northumberland was Ann Stevenson’s rink who from start to finish showed how it was done, her rink played well winning 27 v 8 but unfortunately this was just not quite enough. We have had a good win at the start of the season, but where we have got the right mix in some rinks others need tweaking. Keep going ladies you have got what it takes. Onwards and upwards
