Yesterday’s (2nd June) Stella Logan saw Northumberland ladies put up a good fight against Cumbria at Maryport.
Under a blistering hot sun three rinks certainly dug deep right up until the 17th end where Karen Harvey’s rink with a 1 shot lead dropped a 4 on the last end. Mary Urwin’s rink played a valiant game to go down by just 2 shots. Anne Marie Murray skipped the only winning rink 16 v 13. However a difficult rink saw a Northumberland defeat 4 v 24. Positives from the game is the camaraderie that is developing among this relatively new team. Their support of each other gives the selectors something to build on and hopefully see success in the future
