Women’s 4 Bowl Singles – quarter finals
These quarter final games saw 3 very strong wins and 1 fight back to secure their places in the Unified Semi Finals Weekend at Gosforth on 17-20th July.
S. Carter (HX) 22 v M. Angove (WM) 8
After 5 ends Shelagh had taken an early lead of 6-1. She had extended her lead to 11-2 after 10 ends. Marysia pushed on hard and managed to secure 3×2 to cut her deficit to 8-13 after 14 ends. Shelagh fought back and took the following 4 ends with 2×3, 2&1 to win the game 22-8 🎉
A. Stevenson (GC) 5 v R. Cartwright (BD) 21
Rachel had taken an early lead of 6-4 after 5 ends. Rachel got in her stride and took the next 4 ends with 3×2 & 3 to extend her lead to 15-4. Ann won the next end but Rachel finished the game strongly taking the last 3 ends to win with a decisive victory of 21-5 🎉
K. Sultman (FH) 21 v C. Brodie (P) 7
Kacee got in her stride very quickly and was leading 8-3 after 5 ends. After 10 ends she had extended her lead to 12-5. On the 12th end Kacee secured the game taking a 4 to lead 16-6. She then finished with a 3&2 to win with a decisive victory of 21-7 🎉
F. Charlton (FH) 19 v S. London (C) 12
Fiona started strongly leading 7-2 after 5 ends. Sandra fought back hard and by end 8 they were level on 8-8. Fiona stalled on 8 for 4 ends as Sandra pushed on hard to take a lead of 12-8. Then the roles reversed as Sandra stalled on 12 and Fiona took the next 4 ends with 2×2, 3&4. Sandra decided to shake hands on end 16, giving Fiona the win of 19-12 🎉
