Friday 25th April saw BNWS host their second Player Performance Development Day at West Denton IBC.
Building on last year’s success, over 40 women (primarily county players) attended the seminar on Critical Thinking & Etiquette.
The attendees were split into 2 groups, where half of them listened to an insightful presentation on etiquette/ sportsmanship followed by a Bowls Development Alliance session focussing on a deeper understanding of ‘Head Building’, courtesy of David Bolt. The other half took to the green where Rachel Cartwright and Anne-Marie Murray lead discussions on alternative ways to read a head, shot selection and what factors could influence your decision.
After lunch, the groups switched sessions before coming together to consolidate their learning with a team quiz. It was great to see so many competitive people, looking forward to seeing that enthusiasm on the green this season.
On behalf on the Women’s Executive committee, we would like to once again offer our sincere thanks to West Denton IBC, Sheila Storey, David Bolt, Rachel Cartwright & Anne-Marie Murray as without you these events wouldn’t happen.
And of course, thanks to each any every one of the players who attended the event and participated to the fullest, you made this another highly interactive and fun event. The real question is, what do we do next?
Please share any ideas/ suggestions to Sheila Storey/ Rachel Cartwright
