Well we have only gone and done it. After a hard fought Northern Counties game today against Cumbria we have a win under our belt.
Playing at Ponteland on what can only be classed as perfect weather conditions every rink gave of their very best. 4 rinks winning and the other 2 rinks chipping away at Cumbria’s lead. I do not normally single players out but Skip Heather Smith in playing their last end, three shots down and asked her number 3 Norma Povey to draw into the head. This she did with perfection and remained the winning shot, bringing them into double figures.
Overall score was 103 v 90 which equates to 8 points to Northumberland 2 points to Cumbria.
Could this be a taster for our tie against Cumbria in the Johns Trophy at Aspatria on 21st June ?
