National Championship Entries

Back to news

Today Bowls England have advised how many entries we will receive – whether that is one or two entries at the Bowls England National Championships at Royal Leamington Spa in August. For those that are not aware each county used to get 2 entries; then things changed of course going through Covid, but now instead of getting 2 entries – it is the top 27 counties in terms of entries (in numbers) will get two entries, the remaining 8 counties only get 1 entry – so total entries = 62.  To me not sure why they don’t do 64 entries, then after first round you are down to 32, and so on. Anyway here goes….

I am pleased to advise the following: –

Men’s National Championships – Two Entries in the following events – so that is: –

Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, 2 Bowl Singles. We only have ONE entry in the Junior Singles. The other championship events we get one – that is same is every other county (Junior Pairs and Senior 4’s). The change from 2024 is we only get one entry in the Junior Singles.

Women’s National Championships – Two entries in the following events – which is increase in events from last year. The events are: – Pairs, Triples, Fours and also 2 Bowl Singles (where we were 27th on the list (which is the last place to get 2 entries). If I recall the change from 2024 is in increase to two in Triples and 2 Bowl Singles. We narrowly missed out on two places in the Singles.

I will post all these figures tonight – but these are the headlines, which is positive news for all concerned. The links below ARE NOW active!
