Saturday 3rd June will see our Men’s Middleton team in action.
This year the Middleton Cup is back in a group stage, and in our group we will take on Lancashire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire – with the winner of the group progressing to the quarter finals – where they will play the winners of the other North Group (Cumbria, Durham, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire).
Today, we will play Lancashire at Gosforth BC – starting at 1pm.
The other group games, see us play Lincolnshire at Gosforth BC in 2 weeks time (17th June – again 1pm start) and our final group game will see us travel to Long Eaton BC, where we take on Derbsyshire on 8th July.
There are 5 debutants making their Middleton Cup appearance this afternoon – they are Ashington’s Christian Lowes and George Richardson, Morpeth’s Nick Armstrong, St. Georges Dragon Chris McGready and Gosforth’s Mal Cooper.
We wish our team the very best of luck today and hopefully we can get off to a great start. I am sure support to the lads would be very much appreciated – so please come along if you can.
