Men’s Reporting of Results

Back to news

This relates to the Men’s and Mixed Pairs competitions only. And I thought it would be best to post this, I do realise for most of you, you know what to do, and what is the rules / processes are but others clearly do not.

All results must be reported within 24 hours of the commencement of the tie, and no later than 10pm on the evening of the tie, and after 8am on the morning following the tie – this can be done via whatsApp, text or e-mail – this does not mean report results in after midnight (00:20) on WhatsApp. A photo of the card is better and works, with all names on the scorecard, clear scoreline and a signature.

ALL names must be on the scorecard – this in a way is just as important as the scoreline – as all players must have been registered, and also this allows to check for substitutes and named entries, as sometimes the named entry does or cannot play in the first or other games down the line. Names also must be “readable”, and also have surnames – not just ~Joe and Bob or initials, or them and us!

Please also state on the card – what competition it is, tie number, date played and venue.  On conclusion of the game – the scorecard should be signed by the losing player / team.

Players in singles – you should keep your card until the following round.

Competitions are the County Competitions, that lead to the Bowls England National Finals (except county C of C). The competitions are : – Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, 2 Bowl Singles, Senior Fours, Under 24 Singles, Junior Pairs, Champion of Champions and Mixed Pairs.

I hope this is all self explanatory and I wish good luck to you all for the season – for those that are involved in the competitions.

Failure to comply may/will result in disqualification.

I realise for most of you, you do this already – and thank you.

Competitions and also Cups (Edwardson, Challenge, Jubilee) are reported to myself – John Harthen (Hon. Competition Secretary) – johnharthen@sky.com / 07759976692.

For League Results – you submit/send these to the League Secretary Jimmy Holmes.
