The last two cup finals will take place this weekend. Firstly the Challenge Cup played at Alnwick BC on Saturday 21 August, with the usual start time of 10:30am. The clubs competing to lift the cup are Benfield, Health & Security, Willington Quay, Cramlington, Rothbury and Hexham Elvaston.
Of the above clubs, there are only 2 past winners – Health & Security back in 1979 and more recently Cramlington in both 2004 and 2009. I wish all the players of the clubs they are representing the very best of luck on Saturday.
On Sunday, it will be the last county cup final – with the Jubilee Cup being played for. The venue is St. Georges BC, and I would like to thank St. Georges BC for hosting, and helping myself out in staging 1 and 2, as well as Forest Hall BC of course – many thanks to all concerned.
The clubs competing are Rothbury, Benfield ‘B’, Rockcliffe and New Delaval Knights ‘B’.
Again I wish all the players the very best on Sunday – play on Sunday starts at 1:30 pm.
