Just a post to ask whether you or your club have nominated yourself to play for Bowls Northumberland (Men) this coming season.
Nominations from any player are very much welcome, that is whether you have played before for the county or not, so please put your name forward and have a go!
This would be extremely helpful for the respective Team Managers – to help them pick their respective teams.
Men’s County Teams comprise are: –
Alsop Cup (Northern Counties League) – playing Cumbria, Durham, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Muras Cup (as above)
Middleton Cup (Bowls England Inter-County National Competition) – this year it is back to group stages initially, and we play Lancashire and Lincolnshire at home, and Derbyshire away.
White Rose Trophy (Bowls England Inter-County National Competitions for Under 25’s) – comprises of 2 rinks (8 players) – we play Derbyshire, and the game will be played at Dunnington, York on Sunday 21st May.
Balcomb Trophy (Bowls England Inter-County National Competitions Double Rinks) – we play Cumbria away in June.
We hope and plan to have a trial in May to look at players – date & venue tbc. So please look out for this. You do not have to nominated from your Secretary and you can nominate yourself if needed.
