Today the Area Final of the Bowls England National Family Pairs was played at St. Georges BC (neutral green) between Jimmy & James Askwith (Walker St. Peters) and Stephen & Aaron Robson (New Delaval Knights).

The tie looked to be heading the way of the Askwith’s as they led by 10 shots after 13 ends played with the score being 13 – 3. However, the Delaval duo scored on the next few ends and playing the last end it was 14 a piece. The comeback was complete with the Robson’s scoring the decisive shot on the last end to take the tie 15 – 14.
Stephen & Aaron Robson will now face another area winner, and if they win this tie they will then progress to the Bowls England National Finals at Royal Leamington Spa next month. I will keep you updated of their progress, and a well done to both teams today.
