Thursday evening brought the 2nd Round of the Men’s Edwardson Cup.
There were 7 ties played, as one tie had a walkover – as the reigning champions New Delaval Knights conceded their game before the Edwardson Cup started. In the ties that were played, there were good home wins for Westerhope defeating Heaton Vicoria 61 – 41; Rothbury recorded a great home win over 2021 champions Benfield 50 – 40, and the last home victory was only by a single shot, where Forest Hall edged out Collingwood 49 – 48.
The 3 remaining ties were away wins – with former champions St. Georges Dragons winning at North Shields West End 58 – 35; Cramlington won at Lesbury 65 – 41 and the final game saw Gosforth winning at Ponteland 76 – 37.
The quarter finals will take place next Thursday. Well done to all players and clubs tonight.
