The Edwardson Round Two was played tonight with 8 ties, and saw the holders continue their pursuit of retaining the cup, with a good away win.
Holders St. Georges faced a tricky away game at Seghill BC tonight, and they won 56 – 42. St. Georges will have home advantage next week, and will take on Newbiggin BC, as Newbiggin BC won a very close encounter against Backworth Welfare 44 – 43. The game at Portland BC was a repeat of the 2018 final, but the outcome was different as it saw Gosforth BC win comfortably 56 – 37. Gosforth BC will now have another away game, this time at Rothbury, as Rothbury BC got the better of their visitors Westerhope BC this evening, winning 63 – 36.
The last couple of game were closer contests, where firstly Collingwood BC scored a good win over Forest Hall 61 – 55, mainly down to the rink skipped by Michael Watson who won 28 – 11. Collingwood will be at home next week and will face Benfield, who comprehensively defeated Walker St. Peters 73 – 25.
