Our 2 bowl and 4 bowl Champion of Champions Finals took place Saturday 24th June at Ponteland BC and it was a pleasure to watch two exciting games.
A lovely sunny morning, great hospitality by Ponteland and fantastic greens to play on, what more could we ask for!
What we got was 2 new names on our winners’ trophies 🎉🎉
2 Bowl Champion of Champions
Mattea Ross (G) v Kayleigh Proctor (BD)
It was Kayleigh who got off to a great start and she was leading 5-2 after 4 ends. Mattea won the next 2 ends bringing the score to 4-5. Kayleigh then scored a 2 and 1 on the next 2 ends taking her lead to 8-4 after 8 ends. Kayleigh won a 2 on end 10 extending her lead to 10-5. Unfortunately Kayleigh then got stuck on 10, as Mattea got into her stride confidently taking all the remaining ends with 7×1 and 2×2 to eventually win the game 16-10.

V.Symons (WR) v Amy Dunton (P)
Amy took a confident lead winning 3 on end 1 and a 2 on end 2, Victoria score a 1 on the next end and Amy answered with a 2 on the 4th end, extending her lead to 7-1. After 10 ends Amy was still leading 11-5. Both ladies kept pushing hard and after the 17th end Amy had extended her lead to 18-9. However it was then Amy’s turn to get stuck on 18 for the next 6 ends as Victoria fought back hard to eventually take the lead 19-18 on end 23. This was nail biting stuff and all the spectators were amazed with the standard of play. Amy took a 2 on end 24 taking the lead back to 20-19 and with her last bowl on end 25 she took a 1 to win the game 21-19!!! Incredible play ladies and a delight to watch
