Challenge Cup

Back to news

Saturday saw 21 clubs play the semi-final of the Challenge Cup. Congratulations to the four winners and two highest runners-up who have earned a spot in the final this Saturday 16th August at Portland BC 10:30 am start.

Walker St. Peters 8 pts +30 – Group A winners at Walker St. Peters

Gosforth 7 pts +21 – Group B winners at Morpeth

Portland 6 Pts +18 – Group C winners at Amble

Hexham House 8 pts +33 – Group D winners at Hexham House

Haltwhistle 8 pts +29

Willington Quay 6 pts +28

For transparency, 3 venues had 5 teams and one 6. No matter what reasonable number of points/shots were added or taken away from the totals to even the groups up, the two best runners-up remained the same. These were Haltwhistle, who played at Hexham House, and Willington Quay, who played at Walker St. Peters. Honourable mention goes to Crawford Park, just missing out, with 6 points and +11 shots.

I’d like to thank our host venues, Walker St. Peters, Morpeth, Amble, and Hexham House, for their hospitality, preparing the scorecards, and prompt reporting of the results to me.
