Today we saw the conclusion of the BNWS Benevolent Triples held at Gosforth Coxlodge BC.
The weather was in total contrast to the earlier rounds on Monday! But that didn’t affect the standard of play. I just wish more spectators had turned up to watch some brilliant play today!

Final
A-M.Murray (FH) 10 v C.Hume (AK) 16
It was good to see more spectators for this final after lunch.
Forest Hall started strong and were 3-0 up after 2 ends. Alnwick took the next 2 ends to level the game to 3-3. Forest Hall were in their stride taking a 2 & 3 on the next 2 ends to lead again 8-3. Alnwick then found their line and took the next 7 ends with 5×1 & 2×3 to take the lead of 14-8. There were some really close heads in this final, with the jack moving several times to swing the game. Forest Hall scored 2 on end 14 to cut their deficit to 10-14. But Alnwick fought back to score 2 on the final end to win 16-10.
Congratulations to Alnwick on winning the trophy and to Forest Hall for being our runner up. Some great play ladies from both sides.
A big thanks to Gosforth Coxlodge for being such great hosts for this event.
We were treated to non stop hot drinks and to fab refreshments at lunchtime – all greatly appreciated by players and spectators.
