BE Nationals Day 5 – updated

Back to news

Monday brought the continuation of the Bowls England National Finals and our hopes rested with the Women’s triples and the start of the Men’s Junior Pairs.

First up today was the continuation of Women’s Triples – with Pat, Rachel and Kayleigh taking on our neighbours from Durham and Consett Park – in Susan Ramage, Ann Mitchell & Teresa Pearson. And I am pleased to advise our girls recorded a super win, after over turning a slight deficit at 5 ends – where they trailed 4 – 3, Pat, Rachel and Kayleigh went to win 20 – 8.

The next round is scheduled at 1:30pm where we will take on a triple from Cove BC, Hampshire (Donna Taylor, Sue Dyson & Allyson Flint).

Result: A Flint (Hampshire) 17 v K Proctor 6

Later today we will our Men’s Junior Pairs champions in Luke Jameson (St. Georges Dragon) and Benfield’s Matty Bishop. Our lads will be on at 5pm and play Oliver Kenway & Alex Dytham from Dorset.

However, there was good news with the Junior Pairs this evening, and despite by 9 – 0 down, Luke & Matthew fought back brilliantly and won 18 – 15 against Dorset. The lads are back in action tomorrow in round 2, where they will take on Middlesex’s Robbie Carter Jnr & Oliver Shearing, who had a good win over Lincolnshire’s Daniel Stanley & Harry Mycock 22 – 10.
