As advised yesterday the Men’s 4 Wood Singles gets underway this morning – fortunately our representative does not face a preliminary tie and is straight into round 1 and will play Joe Dawson (Kingscoft, Leicestershire).
I’m sure we wish Jonty the very best of luck today, and if Jonty plays as he did last Sunday in the Northern Counties Championships he will do very well.

In the games this morning, the holder Essex’s Ed Morris crashed out in the prelim to former U25 National Singles Champion Isle of Wight’s Travis Meller. There were wins for the Durham Champion Davey Bolt, and Family Pairs National Champion & Yorkshire’s Mark Walton but our Northern Counties representatives from Cumbria and Lancashire went out. Update: Round 1 is currently underway. Bolt and Walton won their 3 games today and will take their places in tomorrows quarter finals – which also includes Sam Tolchard, Ryan Atkins and John McGuinness.
