Well Day 15 of the Bowls England National Finals was played on Wednesday, with our 2 Wood Singles representatives in action.
Firstly our Women’s 2 Wood Champion was first in action, where Forest Hall’s Jess Weir beat our local neighbours from Durham, in Ilona Koch-Klau from Durham City, and Jess won convincingly 18 – 6. Next up for Jess was Dorset A, in Rebecca Cresswell, and Jess unfortunately lost 15 – 14.
On to the Men, and our county champion Astley Park’s Graham Sivell and Graham beat Andrew Drummond from Borough of Eye BC, Suffolk A 15 – 10. On to Round 2 and Graham took on Warwickshire’s Mark Irelanf from Avenue BC (Coventry. Unfortunately for Graham, as Graham went down 15 – 10. Our other representative was St. Georges Dragon Karl Jameson. Karl took on Frazer Ham from Clevedon BC, Somerset B – and it was not to be be for Karl today as he lost.
Our next player in action is St. Georges Dragon Gary Myerscough, where Gary will be looking for silverware in the Senior Singles. Gary will be play on Saturday am, and Gary plays Victor Greenberg from Buntingford, Hertfordshire.
