BE Nationals Day 13

Back to news

Day 13 arrives at the Bowls England National Finals, and hope it is not unlucky for all our competitors.

Tuesday will be a busy day (hopefully) with the start of the Women’s and Men’s 2 Wood Singles – and if successful (both Vic and Gary) will be playing 6 games in one day. Our representatives are Victoria Symons (Wooler) who is the first underway with a 9:30am start against Lancashire’s Chloe Smith. The Men’s representative is St. Georges’ Gary Myerscough, and Gary starts his campaign at 10:30am and will play Warwickshire B’s Thomas Wheeler.

Further on in the day the Women’s and Men’s Champion of Champions start – with last 16 already in place. Both of our representatives not only won Northumberland area, then had to play another round against Durham’s winner (for Men side) and Women’s side played the Cumbrian winner. Victoria is our representative, and hopefully Vic is still in the 2 Wood Singles and this game will be possibly delayed – Vic’s opponent is recently crowned Women’s Singles Champion Stef Branfield (Clevedon, Somerset) – this game is scheduled for 2pm. The men’s qualifier is Phil Harvey (St. Georges’ BC), and Phil plays former national singles runner up, and Family Pairs runner up (last week) Warwickshire’s Graham Ashby (Nuneaton BC) at 4:30pm.

As always we wish all of our players the very best of luck tomorrow and I will keep you posted.
