Friday brings the start of the Senior competitions at Leamington Spa, and the continuation of the Mixed Fours as well on a wet day so far at Leamington Spa.
Firstly on the Mixed Fours – our representatives of Kayleigh Proctor, Rachel Cartwright, Simon Richardson & Chris Yeomans are in to the quarter finals, following yesterdays’ comprehensive win over a quartet from Essex. We are currently in action against Surrey’s Joyce Wood, Kevin Clarke, Maggie Randall & Martin Wood – and the current score after 12 ends is 18 – 4 (up) – and is certainly looking good for a semi-final place this afternoon.
Great news this morning from Leamington Spa – that Chris & Co won their quarter final in the mixed 4’s, winning convincingly 23 – 7. They will now face the holders in the semi-final and another team from Surrey – this time they will face Faye Ludlow, Hayley Halford, Paul Jenkins, Dennis Hennessy at 2:30pm on A green.
RESULT Mixed 4s Semi Final: Northumberland 21 Surrey 7 – and are now in the FINAL tomorrow.On to the Senior Events – and the Senior Pairs in both Women & Men start today.
The Men’s representatives are Gosforth’s Steve Pallas, playing with St. Georges Dragons Gary Myerscough, and Steve & Gary take on Surrey’s Alan Reed and Alick Boubyer.

- Round 2: Steve & Gary 17 v Attilio Ciampini & David Pitt (Middlesex) 13.

In the Women’s Senior Pairs, our girls start at 1pm – as Wooler’s Jacqui Donnelly & Maggie Peart play Wiltshire’s Rosemary Corke and Glenda Hibbard.
Not so good news for our Wooler duo as they went down 17 – 6 to Wiltshire.
