As previously posted our Men’s Alsop Cup triumph, as we played our last game of the season in the re-arranged game with Cumbria, as the original game was postponed on 15 July due to the weather.
Before the game we sat 17 points behind group leaders Durham, so therefore we knew what was needed. We got off to a good start and this was maintained throughout the proceedings.
It is the first time in 5 years that we have won the Alsop Cup, and only the second time in 14 years. A great achievement for all the players, and team manager, and not just those the players that played at Portland yesterday but right through the 4 games season. I also like to thank Portland BC for hosting yesterday, the county are very much thankful for the use of your facilities again – thank you, it is very much appreciated.
