Monday brought another thrilling day of action at Leamington Spa, featuring fierce individual battles and a powerhouse performance in the Para Open Pairs that truly brought the house down!
Day Six Round-Up
Women’s Junior Singles Championship (Rink B5):K. Sultman (Forest Hall) kicked off her singles campaign bright and early against Wiltshire’s Zoe Fletcher (Westlecot). Finding herself 13–5 down after dropping a pair of 4-counts, Sultman showed incredible grit by immediately responding with a brilliant 4 of her own to roar back to 13–9. She continued to fight tooth and nail through a gripping battle at 16–12 and 17–15 down, staying within striking distance before Fletcher managed to pull away over the final few ends to seal a 21–15 win. A tremendous display of resilience from Kacee on the national stage!
Para Open Pairs Quarter-Final:What a statement performance! Our own G. Robinson—aka “The Bear”—teaming up with Northamptonshire’s C. Bowler (New Delaval Knights / Wellingborough), put on an absolute masterclass on the greens. With momentum firmly in their paws at 9–5 after 8 ends and showing no signs of slowing down, the dynamic duo completely controlled the remainder of the rink to charge to a resounding 21–6 victory against S. Turner and S. Gamble, booking their spot in the semi-finals. You simply can’t poke “The Bear” when he’s on a mission! 🐻💪
