Women’s Pairs

Back to news

The Women’s Pairs continued with the semi-final matches being played on Saturday am. In a sunny Amble we were treated to some excellent play in these two semi-final matches. There were some very close heads at times, in both games.

S. Storey (G) 30 v A. Dunton (P) 5
Both Sheila and Mattea played some fabulous shots today and entertained the spectators. Unfortunately, Amy and Tracey found it difficult to replicate their previous form.

D. Taylor (BD) 25 v S. Carter (HX) 11
Shelagh and Jean took an early lead in this game, but they found it difficult to come back from going down 4 shots on the 4th end and 5 shots on the 5th end, however they never gave up and kept trying to get back in the game. Dot and Pat both produced some great shots today, both demonstrating strong form and determination in trying to retain their title from last year.

So the finalists are S. Storey (G) v D. Taylor (BD) – and that will be a game not to be missed on Finals Day!
