Back to news
County Finals played at St Geroge’s Bowling Club.
Womens 2 wood singles final:
S. MacDonald (HX)  7  v  V. Symons (WR)  16
Victoria was playing to retain her title in this final and she managed to do that in a convincing manner. She took an early lead and even though Susan tried hard to fight back into the game, Victoria continued to show her dominance, eventually winning 16 – 7.
Congratulations to Victoria Symons who is our 2022 Champion.

Women’s 4 wood singles final:
R. Cartwright (BD)  21  v   M. Ross (G)  18
Rachel was also playing to retain her title in this final. Spectators were given a great match to watch with some exciting play from both competitors.
This was a very close game with the lead changing regularly throughout the game. Mattea took an early lead but Rachel pulled it back to 5-5 on the 6th end. It was 11-11 on the 14th end and again 16-16 on the 18th end. However, Rachel scored a 4 on end 19 and that seemed to be the turning point in the game. She scored another 2 points on end 20, and even though Mattea fought back strongly, Rachel eventually won 21-18 after 25 ends.
Congratulations to Rachel Cartwright who is our 2022 Champion.
Women’s Fours final:
S. Stothard (LL)  19  v  V. Symons (WR)  9
Newcomers to this competition were Linton Lions taking on last year’s champions Wooler.
Linton Lions took an early lead and they were winning 7 – 1 after the 5th end. Wooler dug deep and pulled it back to 4 – 7 after 7 ends.
However, Linton Lions scored 3 points on 3 quick ends taking their lead to 16 – 5 after 11 ends. This seemed to seal Wooler’s fate even though they never gave up, it was Linton Lion’s dominance that paid off eventually winning the game19 – 9.
Congratulations to Heather Stothard, Kaylee Fogerty, Janet Robson and Sarah Stothard who are our 2022 Champions.
